“Killing Time” is the debut offering from Cheshire four piece Last Man Down. Unfortunately the first impression is that they are they’re just another pop-punk band, one in a long line.

Sure they’re very competent, the song’s not bad and they’ve included a slight touch of electronica in the background to try and differentiate themselves from the pack but ultimately this is something for fans of pop-punk and not much else. The second track featured is a rather shouty ,and annoying, cover of the Sugababes’ “About You Now”. It just doesn’t work and whether issuing a cover on your first release is a good long-term strategy either is also open to debate.
