Released as the lead single from the third eponymous Weezer album, "Pork And Beans" is a quirky slice of power pop that epitomizes the band's strengths and serves as a perfect introduction to the "Red" album.
After having
been leaked onto the internet earlier this year I'm sure
that anyone with even a slight interest in the band will no
doubt be aware of this three minute slice of Weezer
knockabout goodness.
Neatly referencing the band's own past with an intro that
has shades of "El Scorchio" and a mid tempo chorus/loping
verse that's not a million miles away from "Beverly Hills"
means that Weezer are on familiar turf with "Pork & Beans",
giving just a hint of the feast of delights that the "Red"
album has in store
