"Free Things For Poor People" is the second single to be culled from Infadels recently released second album "Universe in Reverse" and was, apparently, conceived from a T-shirt slogan spotted by keyboard player Richie Vernon.
Free Things For
Poor People is built around an insistent keyboard pulse with a chorus that is tailor made
for a bit of a festival sing a long, and if you think of Sparks and
James in a strange sound clash situation then you've got an
idea of how this quirky tune sounds. I much prefer the angular guitar and strident drums of the
Gang of Four-esque "Godzilla" and the Placeo like "Like
Tomorrow and the Day Before" but "Free Things For Poor
People" is a more obvious choice of single for the masses
and that's what its all about at the end of the day
