Anyone fancy an efficient German
thrash album? If so then Incubator’s latest release will be
right up your street, a mix of classic German thrash and
death bands Destruction, Gorefest and Sodom, as well as
galleons of Slayer and double helpings of Tankard and
Rammstein.
The band has been
around since 1991 and as this is their fifth album you’d
think we’d have heard of them by now, even more so,
considering their high profile support slots on the
continent, supporting bands like Saxon, Gorefest, Sodom,
Cannibal Corpse and even a slot on the infamous Wacken
festival.
“Narzist” and “Frei”
sound like System Of A Down being forced into a meat
grinder, accompanied by fast vocal delivery and pounding
bass lines. As the album progresses tracks like “S”, “Der
Wag” and “Instrumentalstcük” keep up the fast pace thrash
elements of the album, whereas “Stapellauf”, “F**k Mich”,
“Schon” and “Fur Immer” all have a heavier, sludge tone,
which keeps the album on the ground.
Incubator show a
different spin on the current thrash/death metal scene with
this album, though it’s a good album, the fact it’s all in
German is what will stop this album breaking boundaries in
this country, shame really.
